aka Privacy Policy, Terms of Service and Why Pandage?

Things we don’t do

• We don’t profile you.
• We don’t track you.
• We don’t save your search history.
• We don’t sell your data to serve ads (in fact, we don’t sell your data, period.)
• We don’t track any searches in order to provide search suggestions.
• We don’t store your IP address or any personally identifiable data.
• We don’t use tracking cookies.
• We don’t share your searched with the websites you visit.
• We don’t take money from any company in exchange for favorable search result positions.

Things we do

• We use cookies only to save your settings, and on mobile devices, to restore your most recent session. We do not store these cookies on our servers, or use them for any other purpose. Unlike evil tracking cookies, Pandage cookies are quite delicious!
• "Near me" searches ask your permission to use your location data. It would not be possible to know what is near you, if we didn’t request this information. Your location, but not your IP address, is then shared with Yelp to serve relevant results. This is clearly indicated when you perform such a search and can be easily avoided by NOT sharing your location when prompted. We don’t store your location or use it for any other purpose.
• Pandage Maps is powered by Esri. We don’t track your use of the service, but as Esri might collect personally identifiable information, please read their privacy policy as well. Outside of Pandage Maps, no data is shared with Esri.
• Pandage is currently privately funded and non-commercial in nature. To prevent intrusive advertising and to keep the service free, we add an affiliate link to some results. Search results do not favor affiliates. The affiliate process has no adverse effects to you and we do not store any personally identifiable affiliate data.
• We are not above the law. We will comply with court ordered legal requests. (As useless as they may be, since we don't collect any personal information.)

Things you shouldn’t do

• Please access the service only as clearly intended by the user interface. There is no API at this moment.
• Don’t break the law. Obviously.

Things you should know

• Neither we nor any other search engine can protect you once you leave the website. To further protect your privacy online, please use a VPN. We recommend, and have an affiliate relationship with, Tunnelbear.
• Please note that a VPN alone does not protect you from all evil. Even if your IP address is masked, big search engines have the means to use every other trick in the book, including tracking the unique combination of your browser version and screen size. We are not involved in any such shady practices.
• We are in no way affiliated with Google, Yahoo, Bing or any other search engine. Any results from these sources are served through our servers so that you cannot be identified. As Pandage grows, less and less data is fetched from these sources.
